One Man’s Junk
is a photographer’s shot of the day.
This just happens to be one of those shots that most lightroom presets will work with…with a little tweaking, of course.
Sadly, I posted my 365 shot before I played around with it much…I like the cropping on the bottom pic better than the straight one shot.
Oh well!
Daisy Maisy
Quite possibly the funnest dog ever…
She let’s me take her picture…
and her picture’s are fun to edit. I can never decide which edit I like best.
She is not, however, very fond of shoes.
Strange, being a girl, and all…
Rail Road Shots
Sure, the one day that I want to photograph a train car covered in graffiti, there is not one to be found!
I had thought that it would make a great subject for the “words” theme that a few photog friends and I are doing for our 365 Project.
I parked my car on the least shady side of the tracks, and walked/slid over the bridge.
It was cold and windy. January in Minnesota cold and windy.
But I did get a couple of shots that I really like.
There was one car covered in graffiti near these, but due to the family friendly nature of my photography, I cannot show you that pic…it was, shall we say, very colorful in more ways than one!
Blue Man Drummers
I had the opportunity to be a small part of an amazing girls conference put on by the church that I attend.
Some time soon, I may share more…but for now, here is a peak at some incredibly talented young people…
Project 365 Extras
Sometimes it’s hard to only post one pic…
Other days, one is just enough!
Here are a few extras that I like:
See all my Project 365 shots here!
Mini Mini Session
One cold day before winter, I grabbed a few shots of the “W” family, just for their Christmas card.
It was cold…and breezy, but sunny.
The kids gave me their best, for 2.3 minutes before they were just too cold.
And then, after a quick cup of hot chocolate, I snagged one last shot of the kids.
And my day was complete!
Sparkly Pink Hightops
These shots are from a little session with a pair of shoes.
Why, you ask, would someone take pictures of sparkly pink hightops?
Unless, of course, they belonged to a bride.
Because we always shoot the bride’s shoes.
And I bet somewhere, sometime, there was a bride that wore sparkly pink hightops.
But, this particular pair belongs to a 7 year old.
My 7 year old.
I photographed them for the sole (sole! ha!!) purpose of my Project 365.
For the first part of the year, a group of us are shooting a theme for a week.
The theme for the first week of the new year was…shoes!
So, sparkly pink hightops…
I wonder if they come in my size…
Horse Shoes and Flame
I love capturing images of my families horses.
They are beautiful, playful, energetic, and fun!
I started out taking some shots of horse shoes, for my Project 365, as this weeks theme was “shoes.”
After I took several shots, the horses decided to put on a little show for me.
Especially Flame.
Here are a few of the above shots with a little editing in lightroom.
Frozen Minnesota…Sort Of
I was coming home from town one afternoon last week, and stopped by a lake.
It is a bit strange to see the lakes frozen, but without snow.
No snow, and 40 degrees. A strange winter indeed.
Today it actually only got to 16 degrees, and was very windy.
Two days from now, we will be back to 40.
Many many many a winters, it hits 40 degrees below zero in January.
I am just fine with the weather we are having, though my kids are wishing for snow that would stay.
I captured some fall type shots with my 60mm macro lens.
This lens seriously rocks!
What’s the weather like where you live?
It’s a Girl!
I had the awesome pleasure of shooting senior pictures for….a girl!
Up to this point, I had only shot boys, so this new adventure was very fun.
And what an amazing young lady she is.
Beautiful,
Fun,
Talented, incredibly…
And sweet.
I believe that this is a hugely important time in the lives of teenagers.
They are looking forward to their futures with excitement.
I love to include some things that are truly special to them in their shoots.
I met Jade through 4H, she is active in a number of project areas, one of which is Horse.
So we included some western flair…
Thanks Jade, for putting your trust in me for these special pictures.
You are amazing!!
